COMMENTS OF STUDENTS WHO HAVE TAKEN THE COURSE
"In the spring of 2002, Sonoran Arts League members attended two workshops sponsored by the Business Volunteers for the Arts on the matter of our organization's website. At that time SAL's website was rather new and we really didn't know much about how to use it.
Our instructor at the BVA sessions, Terry Houghland, mentioned that he was teaching a course at the Scottsdale Community College on Internet Marketing.
SAL attended that 20 hour credit course and our marvelous journey into the powerful world of Internet Marketing began. We shared our very professional, prepared, and complete course and class outlines and personal class notes with many SAL members, and we began to truly fully develop and put our website to use.
Today it is our single most powerful and useful communication tool. We simply could not exist and prosper as we have without it. We have incorporated all the know how and insights Terry Hougland so patiently taught us and what a blessing our website has become.
SAL's website has grown from 20-50 visits per day in 2002 to now in mid 2004 we get 800-1200 per day. We communicate with our members on all matters and with the vast public we interface with.
On peak time periods we get as many as 30,000 visits around some of our events.
All these visitors are exposed to all our activities, to our affiliate features, online donation choices, to our endowment fund, membership applications, and of course our artists and their works and how to get in touch with them.
Again, our website is our most powerful communications vehicle and we are prospering widely because of it. We owe a great debt of gratitude to Terry Houghland for guiding us to where we are today."
